Hops are well known for their uses in brewing such as bittering, flavoring, aromatics, and antimicrobial aspects. However, deep within the aromatic area of hop cones lie some very unique attributes. It is these qualities that MVH has found a use for in our candleworks division.
In the early days of hops cultivation, when hops had to be harvested by hand, it was found that many of the workers would become exceedingly tired and would sometime fall asleep. This was unusual as the workers were not being worked any harder than usual. Modern science has been able to determine that there are indeed some benefits to sleep patterns when using hops.

*In order to help promote the anxiety reducing and calming effects of hops, MVH has taken our very own hop cones and, after some processing, we put them into every candle product we produce. As the candle burns or melts, the heat releases these compounds from the hop oils into the air which then travel with the regular scent to your nose. The receptors in your nasal passages pick up these minute amounts of hop compounds and transport them to your brain where the calming effects of the hops can then be used.
Our process does not affect the functioning of the candle and is not noticeable when the candle is used. Many of our customers have returned time and time again to purchase our candles due to the wonderful aromatics and burn time that they have seen. Not to mention, our candles are oftentimes found in very unique and custom made containers.
